Daily Prayer

We begin every day with prayer as a school. Our kindergarten through fourth graders meet every morning to pray a decade of the rosary and sing together. Our junior high students gather as a group to pray before lunch and pray a decade of the rosary before dismissal every day. As a school, we close the day in prayer, often naming intentions publicly or privately in our hearts.

Weekly Mass

We attend Mass on Fridays as a school. Students lead the celebration through readings, bringing up the gifts, as altar servers, and in the choir. Families are invited to join us at Mass.

Monthly Adoration

On the first Friday of the month, classes spend time in the presence of Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration. Being in His presence provides grace and strength to live out one’s faith, making Christ relevant in daily activities. We conclude Eucharistic Adoration by gathering as a school for Benediction before the Host is returned to the tabernacle.

Sacraments

The Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are celebrated for Catholic students in the second grade; Confirmation is celebrated for Catholic students in the eighth grade.  The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered to all students before Christmas and Easter.

Retreats

We offer retreats for our second grade and junior high students.  The second grade does a Jesus Retreat to prepare them for their First Holy Communion.  Our eighth grade students attend a retreat to prepare them for the Sacrament of Confirmation.  We provide a retreat for our sixth grade students about the saints and a social justice retreat for our seventh grade students.

Service Learning: Being the Hands & Feet of Christ

Being the “hands and feet of Christ” allows our students to actively live out their faith through tangible acts of love service and compassion by physically helping those in need, such as feeding the hungry by collecting canned goods for St. Vincent de Paul, to visiting those in nursing homes to deliver baked goods and cards, to inviting the elderly of our parish to visit our school for programs and treats.
