Coronavirus

Message from Dennis Wolff

The unprecedented and unusual events of COVID-19 has had a major disruption to our daily routine, including educating our children. Teachers have become tech experts, parents have become teachers and everyone has come together for our children.

On March 12, 2020 we announced that we would be out of school for two weeks. We all hope that in-person instruction would resume, but the announcement we came to expect but feared was made: school will be closed for the remainder of the 2019-20 year.

Our hearts go out to our 8th graders, seniors in high school, seniors in college and anyone’s “final” swing at a major life moment that can’t be replaced. Read below to find what we’re doing for our 8th graders moving onto high school and other end of year close out plans.

We’ll all get through this. We’ll get through this together. When we get to the other side we’ll be Crusader Strong(er) because we’re all leaning on each other for support.

What parents are saying about NTI     End of year and summer plans

I have been so impressed by the faculty and my kids during this time. They are finding their routines and the flexibility of the teachers has been great as the kids re-adjust.

Just wanted to [say] how amazing teachers are doing during NTI (non-traditional instruction). Teachers post daily videos reviewing the tasks of the day and her video conferences for spelling and reading are perfect - I think enough interaction for the kids and it makes them feel like they are class and still get that school feeling while taking their tests.

[Regarding video lessons]: [Teacher] could tell today [my son] wasn’t quite getting the concepts so she set up a one on one video conference for him to go over the lesson again. He was able to get the lesson and I could see his confidence growing throughout the lesson.
